The examination of forms and colors is the basis of Sandra Lange's works. Formal aspects such as structure, contrast, the juxtaposition of lines and surfaces, and the distribution and layering of colors are of central importance.
With the help of grids and geometric shapes, some of which emerge from investigations into architectural structures, the artist develops motifs on which she juxtaposes different areas of color. Elements are repeated in her paintings, interwoven and superimposed in different layers of color.
