Under the title Elb/Hängung #2 the Evelyn Drewes | Galerie presents a group exhibition with artists from its program in an extraordinary ambience. In the old villa on the slopes of the Elbe, new works by a total of 18 artists will be presented over two floors. From sculptures to paintings and drawings to light installations, a wide range of artistic forms of expression can be marveled at in the historic rooms.

The listed building offers a unique backdrop for an exhibition of contemporary positions. The classical atmosphere of the past meets contemporary artistic positions and materials. In this intentional combination of old and new lies the subliminal charm of the group exhibition. The special circumstances of the location are skillfully played with. The lightbox installations by Torsten Ruehle, which bathe the wood-paneled walls of the former gentlemen's salon in diffuse light and thus emphasize the original character. In other rooms, however, the confrontation between the past and the modern is deliberately sought. The old-fashioned charm of flowered wallpaper is broken up by Hannah Bohnen's minimalist lacquer panels. This combination of yesterday and today creates a field of tension that visitors cannot escape. Quite deliberately, the white cube is left behind and art is re-contextualized.

The spectacular view of the Elbe and the harbor cranes opposite, combined with the twinkling lights of the Christmas decorations, contribute on another level to the fact that visitors to the exhibition find themselves in a very special place that can only be experienced for a short time.

Just as appealing as the exhibition venue, is the lineup of participating artists:inside. From students such as Janosch Dannemann to young, up-and-coming positions Lukas Glinkowski, Sophie Ullrich and Hirofumi Fujiwara to established positions such as UdK Professor Karsten Konrad, Elb/Hängung #2 offers the art-loving visitor a compelling experience. Not only experienced collectors will get their money's worth, but also beginners can find what they are looking for in the editions. Every art enthusiast will be introduced to the exhibition and the individual artists in detail during private guided tours. At a place, which there is no second time in Hamburg.

The following artists present Unikat-Editions: Cigdem Aky, Arno Beck, Bram Braam, Hirofumi Fujiwara, Lukas Glinkowski, Steffen Kern, Johannes Kersting, Lev Khesin, Li-Wen Kuo, Michael Peltzer, Achim Riethmann
