A comic-like stylized figure characterizes Sophie Ullrich's paintings. This protagonist, reduced to outlines, forms the interface between narration, abstract pictorial elements and schematic backgrounds in the paintings. The figure of the protagonist already formed in Sophie Ullrich's works during the course of her studies and has since enabled the artist to fill her pictorial worlds in every conceivable way. Surreal long limbs and frequent headlessness of the figure create a humorous impulse in the sceneries of the works.
